Shalom all,   I learned Hebrew as a child and then through lack of use forgot much.  Trying to pick it back up isn't as easy as I would hope.  Hopefully this sight will be helpful.

Spell good and well writing

One little thing, in the street level you won't use עתה
You'll use כרגע (In this moment) or עכשיו (Now)

Also מן מערב (From) will be במערב
Instead of בתחילה use גרתי לפני זה בקליפורניה
גרתי = lived

So I'll write it

אני עכשיו גר במערב וירג'יניה, לפני זה גרתי בקליפורניה

Anyway as I said you did a good job

So how is West Virginia like?

Thanks for the suggestions.  My previous understanding of Hebrew has been only classical (Biblical) Hebrew which tends to be a little bit formal in form although I would normally say לפני זה instead of אבל בתחילה but I try to use more modern words when I can think of one.  Need to build the vocabulary.

Your sentence is good, except I can't understand what r u trying to say at the end : "ושני הכלבים הטובים מאוד להנות"
BTW remove your "ה" in "הגבעה"
When you say "הגבעה" You are talking about a specific Hill, but you did not mention at all which Hill so just use "גבעה" which can be any Hill in West Virgina
