are Jewish still writing from right to left now? what about punctuations? Rolleyes

I just wrote my first sentence in hebrew to my friend, I hope I didn't make any mistake...that would be very embarrassing.......
Hebrew it's not really jewish language, Jewish are sparse all over the world and each place they speak the same language everybody else does - Most Jews outside Israel do not speak Hebrew at all, or either they know just the basic, some know to read a little (that's what the most teach Sunday School) . However the Jews in Israel (Israelis) speak Hebrew as their mother tongue , and also the bible is written in Hebrew therefor alot of Jews want to learn Hebrew.

What we (Israelis) speak is a modern Hebrew

Here's some wiki article about the Hebrew language : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebrew_language

Yes Hebrew is written from right-to-left...There're also punctuations what call niqqud -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niqqud

sorry...Shy

i dont know Halef-Bet...i read the wiki already, but couldnt understand the vowel and consonants part....that's y i asked mightyangel to post more lessons...

i speak chinese and english, but they dont help in Hebrew study at all..../sigh

So then you may want to start w/ a beginners book, to learn how to read, then it'll help you to build up a vocabulary.

Just so you know alot of Israelis know english quite good, in most cases you won't find your self in a situation that you got know one to understand you. Also Israelis like to practice their english w/ english speakers.
THX!!
^.^
