This is Mel from Germany. Being born jewish and having been to Israel a couple of times, I found my homeland to be the most precious land I have ever breathed. I have seen many beautiful places on earth, but Israel is incomparable. If you haven't been, don't miss it. Going again for Sukkot and longing to get my Ivrith in a better shape ;-) Right now I'm beginner level, just got the alef-beis and a very small vocabulary together, and making baby steps to form phrases. Glad to meet U and looking forward to learn with you. Kol tov, Mel
Welcome sunmelo,

The forums here are not very active, as you can see by the last post dates, but I hope you find benefit from them.

You are blessed by visiting Israel as I hope to soon. I am planning on moving to Israel as soon as I can get my finances in order. It is our homeland and the fulfillment of the covenant promise given to our forefathers. May G-d bless his people Israel in the effort to restore our homeland and bring glory to his great name and peace to all.

Learning Hebrew is a great blessing and a true mitzvot as well. When you can read our sacred writings in Hebrew you will find a depth of understanding that cannot be had through translation. You will be drawn into the writings and live the awesome experiences of those that experienced it first hand.

If you have any questions please post them. I, if not others, will try to answer.
